Pidgin

From SlateWiki

Pidgin is a "dialect" of the Slate language which was made mostly as a hack to write portable ANSI-C sources for the VM while still having a form that Slate itself could process for meta-information that is needed in generating image files that link correctly to the resulting VM. The Mobius manual (http://slate.tunes.org/doc/mobius/) has a section covering the basics.

(Insert more informative notes here.)

In the future, Pidgin will be replaced by a "primitive mode" which will basically offer statically compiled and statically type-inferred usage of Slate with systems-programming access. This is not fully-specified or implemented, however.
